ZWARTBLES SHEEP

Zwartbles ewe Beech Hay Neya Royal Show Champion

BEECH HAY NEYA

Breed & Female Champion - The Royal Show 2008

We purchased our first Zwartbles from Mrs Philippa Ball (Woodston Flock) and entered them into the Maedi Visna scheme. We first saw Zwartbles at the Royal Show and were taken by their size, strangth and good temperament.

Beech Hay Zwartbles are being produced as quality pedigree breeding stock. We have been extremely successful in the show-ring having won numerous Breed Championships.

BEECH HAY STARDOM

Reserve Breed & Reserve Male Champion - The Royal Welsh 2010

Our castrated lambs are being finished at grass and sold either at market or privately. We are regularly finishing lambs in excess of 60kg at grass. It is our aim to continue the easy management qualities of the Zwartbles, such as calm natures, easy lambing and milkiness, whilst at the same time improving the carcass quality, through increased fleshing.

We believe we are producing some good looking Zwartbles who have a good carcass which is not as a result of vast amounts of feed.

DANIEL WITH BEECH HAY SOPHIA

at the Three Counties Show 2010

Beech Hay Zwartbles are big sheep but are generally easy to handle. Daniel showed our bottle reared lambs in 2008 and 2009 at 3yrs and 4 yrs and leading them in grand parades.

In 2010 he showed Beech Hay Sophia and Beech Hay Sunflower who were naturally reared lambs.

BEECH HAY TYPHOON

Another great day for the Beech Hay flock. On Saturday 6th August 2011 Beech Hay Typhoon, Male & overall Reserve Champion, topped the Zwartbles sheep Worcester sale selling for a tremendous 900 guineas to new members Mr Ted Dicken and his grandson Jake. The Dickens then went on to purchase six females privately from Clay Farm to add to the four females they had purchased at the sale. We wish them every success with their new Zwartbles.
