BEECH HAY DORPER LAMBS 2012
We are now taking orders for Black Headed Dorper lambs. These lambs have different genetics following the importation of rams and females from three different breeders in Germany with entirely different pedigrees. These all have good scrapie genotypes and are all Maedi Visna accredited. They will be available just after weaning. |
BEECH HAY ZWARTBLES 2012 Our Zwartbles are currently lambing and we already have some good quality lambs available for sale after weaning. |
BEECH HAY BOER GOATS 2012
We are now taking orders for Boer goats. These are tested clear for CAE and CLA. These are strong quality Boer male kids by Topknot Rooney and out of some outstanding Sheercliff females. |
BEECH HAY BLACK HEADED DORPERS GO TO THE ISLAND OF ST HELENA On the 16th October 2011, one shearling and two ewe lambs from the Beech Hay flock left on the HMS St Helena to join the Dorpers from the Beech Hay flock and others that took the six thousand mile boat trip in the Spring of 2011. The Island of St Helena is a British colony in the South Atlantic. The climate on this island means that flystrike is a serious and worrying problem in the sheep breeding programme and so it is hoped that the shedding ability of the Dorper coupled with their hardiness and suitability to the tropical heat will make them ideal sheep for the island. Mr Joe Hollins MRCVS has taken a great deal of effort in selecting his sheep to have a wide variety of pedigree as well as a variation of phenotype which will allow cross breeding and selection of type to suit their breeding programme. |
