BEECH HAY ZWARTBLES
We first saw Zwartbles at the Royal Show in 2003 and along with many others were taken with their size, strength and nature. In 2004, we bought our first females from Mrs Philippa Ball, Woodston Flock, followed by a ram lamb and ewe lambs from Mr & Mrs C Hughes, Kiln Fields flock.
Zwartbles are a lovely looking sheep with striking markings, excellent prolificacy, good growth and easy temperaments. Our Zwartbles are being produced as pedigree breeding stock with lesser animals being finished at grass and sold either at market or privately. We are regularly finishing lambs at in excess 60kg at grass.
It is our aim to continue the easy management qualities of the Zwartbles, such as calm natures, easy lambing and milkiness, whilst at the same time improving the carcass quality, through increased fleshing.

We may have samples for you to buy either as boxes of joints or ½ lambs should you wish. We find the meat quality to be tender and tasty, with some, but not excessive fat.
We can provide fleeces for weaving or felt making should you require so please call if you have anything in mind.
All of our sheep are Maedi Visna accredited and vaccinated with Heptavac P annually. Any unexplained loss of stock on the farm is investigated and abortion and stillbirths are sent to the Veterinary Laboratories Agency. Currently, we have had no losses to test and random samples have been Enzootic Abortion and Toxoplasmosis free.
Not all Zwartbles are the same so please have a look at ours before deciding on just how viable a breed they are.
